Josiah College Statement of Commitment to Student Safety and Wellbeing
Josiah College is committed to nurturing a safe, caring, and respectful environment in which every student is known, valued, and protected. We take all reasonable steps to promote the safety and wellbeing of students entrusted to our care and to protect them from foreseeable harm. The safety and wellbeing of children and young people is a shared responsibility and a priority in all aspects of College life. We do not tolerate any form of child abuse, neglect, or harm.
Guided by our Christian faith and our belief in the inherent dignity of every person, Josiah College acts in accordance with the Child Safe Organisations Act 2024 (Qld) and implements the Child Safe Standards and Universal Principle. Through these commitments, we seek to create a culture that is safe, inclusive, accountable, and responsive. We listen to students, value their voices, and support them to participate meaningfully in decisions that affect their lives.
Josiah College is committed to the safety, inclusion, and wellbeing of all students, recognising and valuing the diversity of cultures, languages, and lived experiences within God’s world. We seek to provide an environment where every student is treated with dignity, where differences are respected, and where all are supported to belong and flourish.
